The Great Western Festival is this Saturday - here's all the info you need to know!
WristbandsFull festival ticket holders will need to collect their wristbands before they can access any venues. The wristband collection point is at the QMU. Collection will be open from 12pm (midday) on Saturday until approximately 10pm at night. The collection point is right inside the entrance of the QMU to the left (there will be plenty of signage). If you have a venue-specific ticket, just travel to the venue you have a ticket for, and you will get your wristband for the venue.
Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket on the day for either a specific venue or a festival wide wristband can travel to any of the venues to do so.
10% Off! With Love Great Western RoadWe are pleased to be working with Love Great Western Road, and local businesses, to offer ticket holders a special 10% discount at some amazing businesses on the day of the festival. Your wristband will get you 10% at any of the following businesses: The Hug & Pint (food only), The V&V Cafe, Urban Haircare, Liquorice Tree Gifts, Urban West, Penny Black, Broken Clock Cafe, Hoos, Ton Up Tattoo & Piercing, Black Pine Coffee, Jimmy Egypt & Sons, The Bay Tree Cafe, Cake Bar, Easy Laundry & Wudon. Just show your wristband to staff at any point throughout Saturday 23rd November, and you'll get 10% off!
Stage TimesIn the picture you can find your official stage times and stage splits! Given the size of the festival, there may be slight adjustments on the day - we recommend you keep up to date on our official twitter @TGWfest for any last minute changes. We will try and keep these to a minimum! With a multi-venue festival, there may be points during the festival when venues might be at capacity - so if anyone really wants to see a specific band they are heavily advised to head there earlier than just before their set.
Safe and Accessible SpacesWe are committed to making sure The Great Western is accessible, and that each of our venues are safe spaces. If you have any accessibility requirements or questions, just give our team an email, or speak to staff on the day. If you see any behaviour in any of the venues that you find troubling, please speak to a member of staff.
Charity CollectionsAt each venue, we will be collecting for various local charities, including Glasgow NW Foodbank, Flourish House, Girls Rock Glasgow, Tiny Changes and PEEK Project. Please give generously where you can! We will also be doing a foodbank collection for Glasgow NW Foodbank at the QMU wristband collection - if you are able to bring any of the following, then they would be very welcome: Toiletries (Shampoo, toothbrushes, deodorant), Tinned potatoes, Tinned fruit, Tinned vegetables, Tinned rice pudding/custard, Biscuits, Jam, Cleaning products (washing up liquid/washing powder)...
WeatherIt looks like it's not going to be too icy, and while there's a chance of rain, it should stay dry for most of the day. This means walks between venues shouldn't be too cold or wet, but we do recommend you dress for winter in Scotland!
AfterpartyJoin us at The Blue Arrow for the official Great Western Festival after party! Going all the way until 3am, keep the party going after all the fun and festivities of The Great Western with some unbridled musical joy courtesy of Romeo Taylor and Fast Muzik. Entry is free for all ticket holders.
And that's about all the info you need right now! We can't wait for Saturday and the first ever edition of The Great Western. Please remember to be considerate of residents and neighbours, don't drop litter when you're walking between venues, be nice to staff and other gig goers when you're at gigs, and just have a bloody good time!
Much love Team TGW x
